On June 17, 2025, Kyiv hosted a multidisciplinary educational master class “Viennese Coffee Discussion for Nephrologists and Urologists”. The scientific partners of the event were the Department of Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy and the Department of Urology of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
The event took place at the Vozdvyzhensky Hotel in the format of a professional meeting accompanied by Viennese waltz music, gathering nephrologists, urologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, internists, and family doctors from across Ukraine.
The program included highlights from the 62nd European Renal Association Congress (ERA 2025) and the European Congress of Rheumatology (EULAR 2025). The first session, “Beyond Nephrology,” featured key presentations by:
- Liubov Savуtska, PhD, Assistant Professor;
- Oksana Lysianska, Assistant Professor;
- Yurii Kalantarenko, Postgraduate Student.
Their talks covered modern approaches to managing patients with podocytopathies and obesity, the importance of integrating genetics into a multisystem, patient-centered approach, and the latest clinical innovations in renal replacement therapy presented at ERA 2025.
The session was moderated by Serhii Voziianov, Director of the Institute of Urology, and Stella Kushnirenko, Head of the Department of Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy.
The highlight of the second session was the lecture “Lupus Nephritis: Antibodies, Histology, Clinical Response, Therapeutic Targets (EULAR 2025),” delivered by Iryna Holovach, Head of the Rheumatology Center at Feofania Clinical Hospital, and Dmytro Rekalov, Leading Researcher at the Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology.
The event confirmed the importance of an integrated approach to training doctors of various specialties and became a vivid example of scientific and interdisciplinary exchange in an atmosphere combining academic insights with warm professional communication.
