Gordiichuk, was born in 1961. In 1987, he graduated with honors from the Chernivtsi State Medical Institute with a degree in "Medicine." From 1990 to 1993, he was a postgraduate student at the Kyiv Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians specializing in "Surgery." In 1993, he defended his candidate dissertation on "The effectiveness of thymectomy in the treatment of generalized myasthenia, recurrences, and their correction."

He has been a candidate of medical sciences since 1994 and an associate professor of the Department of Surgery since 1999. While working at the Department of Surgery, he also worked part-time as a surgeon in emergency surgical departments.

D-r Sorokin works on the basis of Kiev’s Regional Hospital of the proctological and endoscopic departments. The proctologic department of the Kyiv’s Regional Clinical Hospital (the second surgical building) is the base of the Department of Oncology, where Professor Bogdan Sorokin - oncology surgeon of the highest category, clinical oncologist and enodoscopist works. On this basis specialization courses and pre-certification cycles in specialty “endoscopy” are held, as well as the course of the thematic improvement of the "Rectal and colonic tumors".

The clinic has high-tech equipment - video gastroscopes, colonoscopes, double-banded enteroscope, capsular endoscopy. The surgical operating department of the proctology has technical facilities: a device for welding technologies, argon-plasma coagulation, a device for separation and purification of autologous blood cell-saver, a complex of equipment for transanal surgery. The clinic performs all types of endoscopic proctological operations, transanal microsurgical operations for large cervical tumors and I stage of rectal cancer (more than 140 interventions). All types of interventions for colorectal cancer are performed (more than 1000 operations).

Was graduated from the treatment Faculty of Kyiv’s Medical Institute named after Academician О. О. Bogomolets (1978 yr) and internship for specialty of «Surgery» in Кyiv’s Scientific-Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery (1979 yr).

In 1979-2007 yrs he worked in National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology of NAMS of Ukraine named after О. О. Shalimov (scientific seniority – 27 yrs, Executive Director of 5 planned scientific trials). Candidate of Medical Sciences (1990 yr) for Dissertation Thesis – «Оrganpreserving operations in treatment of esophageal peptic stricture», Scientific Supervisor – Acad. of NAS of Ukraine Prof. О. О. Shalimov. Doctor of Medical Sciences (2004 yr) for Dissertation Thesis – «Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (diagnosis and surgical treatment)» under Scientific Consultation of  – Corresponding Member of NAMS of Ukraine Prof. V. F. Sayenko.

From 2004 to 2008, I worked at the P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education as a professor of the Department of Surgery and Transplantology, and as a professor of the Department of Oncology (2007-2008). From 2008 to 2019, I held the position of head of the Department of Oncology at the P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

Oncosurgery of the highest category

At the Department of Oncology of the P.L. Shupyk National University have been working since 1974 and since 1999 have been a professor of oncology. 

In 1971, defended candidate dissertation on the topic "Assessment of Modern Methods of Diagnosis and Treatment of Mediastinal Tumors," which focused on the clinical application of the developed technique of intensive-concentration preoperative irradiation of malignant mediastinal tumors. This method contributed to increased radicalism of surgeries and improved survival rates of patients after combined treatment.

The experience accumulated over the next 10 years in the clinic, along with observations of treatment outcomes in patients, was summarized and presented in the monograph "Primary Mediastinal Neoplasms" (1982). The new directions proposed in this clinical oncology section (clinical classification of mediastinal tumors, various types of needle biopsies of tumors, methodology of combined treatment of malignant mediastinal tumors with preoperative intensive irradiation) have been widely used in many oncological institutions in Ukraine and abroad to this day. 

Oleg Ivanovich graduated from Ternopil State Medical Institute in 1975. He has been working at the Department of Oncology since 1984 (with the clinical base being the National Cancer Institute). 

In 2003, he defended his doctoral dissertation titled "Combined Treatment of Colorectal Cancer Patients with Intraoperative Cryodestruction and Spontaneous Thawing." He was a student of Professor I.P. Dedkov. 

He is a member of the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) and the European Society of Surgical Oncologists (ESSO). 

He is the author of over 150 scientific papers, 42 author's certificates, and patents in Ukraine.

A surgeon of the highest qualification category

Oleksandr Pogorelov, born in 1960, graduated from Vinnytsia State Medical Institute named after M.I. Pirogov in 1984 with a specialization in General Medicine.

From 1984 to 1985, he completed an internship in Surgery at Kalynivska District Hospital in Vinnytsia region. From 1985 to 1988, he worked as a surgeon at Nemirivska District Hospital in Vinnytsia region.

From 1988 to 1990, he pursued clinical residency at the Kyiv Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians, showing aptitude for scientific work. In December 1990, he was admitted to the postgraduate program in the Department of Surgery at the Kyiv Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians. He obtained a Candidate of Medical Sciences degree in 1992 with a dissertation on "Features of Surgical Treatment of Nodal and Mixed Euthyroid Goiter after the Chernobyl NPP Accident (based on materials from Kyiv region)."
