For many years, the department has been conducting research on the problems of combined and complex treatment of malignant tumors, the study of locally advanced cancer using modern achievements of oncological science. Currently, the development and implementation of organ-sparing radical surgical interventions in the complex treatment of cancer, as well as the implementation of modern technologies, the implementation and development of methods of preventing and treating complications, and improving the quality of life of patients after treatment are relevant. A planned NDR entitled "Optimization of diagnosis and treatment of patients with tumors of various localizations" is being carried out.
Working out problematic issues, the department's employees received nine Ukrainian patents over the course of two years, including four patents for inventions.
