From October 15 to 29, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine is hosting an in-person thematic advanced training course titled "Current Issues in Perinatology."
The course is designed for the continuous professional development of practicing obstetrician-gynecologists. The curriculum covers a wide range of contemporary scientific and practical topics focused on preserving women's reproductive health, ensuring safe motherhood, and reducing maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity in the face of modern clinical challenges.
The comprehensive curriculum included an in-depth examination of key topics in modern perinatology, such as preconception care, early diagnosis of pregnancy-related complications, monitoring of the fetoplacental complex, and the management of high-risk pregnancies. A highlight of the program was a clinical case review led by Professor Oleh Volodymyrovych Holianovskyi. The Professor presented a detailed multimedia session featuring unique, rare, and complex clinical cases drawn from his extensive practical experience. The presentation provided a step-by-step analysis of the diagnostic process, the nuances of differential diagnosis, the interpretation of laboratory and instrumental data, and the rationale behind the conservative or surgical management strategies chosen for each specific patient. The material presented sparked genuine interest among the attendees, evolving into an extended, substantive, and interactive discussion. Such an open, two-way dialogue-combined with a detailed analysis of complex, real-life clinical cases and their successful outcomes-enables participants to refine their clinical reasoning, gain clear practical guidance for their daily work, and effectively integrate the latest evidence-based advancements in perinatal medicine into clinical practice.
