Rules of stay of foreigners on the territory of Ukraine
Foreigners and stateless persons who have arrived in Ukraine on legal grounds may temporarily stay on its territory under the following conditions:
- The period of stay of foreigners who are citizens of states with a visa procedure for entry, as well as stateless persons, is limited to the validity of the visa, unless another period is specified by international treaties of Ukraine.
In other words, a foreigner or stateless person may stay in Ukraine for the period of stay permitted by the visa, but not more than until the last day of the visa's validity.
- Citizens of states with a visa-free entry procedure may stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
To calculate the period of stay, it is necessary to count back 180 days from the day of entry or any day of stay (from which it is necessary to calculate the period of stay in Ukraine). A foreigner does not violate the rules of stay if he or she stays in Ukraine for no more than 90 days within this 180-day period.
- It is necessary to have a reserve of about 30 days to successfully apply for a temporary residence permit in Ukraine in connection with studying at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.

[1] Amendments to the legislation on the procedure for staying and extending or reducing the period of temporary stay of foreigners and stateless persons on the territory of Ukraine were introduced by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1667-IX of 15.07.2021:
in Article 1:
clause 5 of part one shall be supplemented with the words "or voluntarily obtained by a resident of Diia City to conclude a gig contract with a foreigner or stateless person";
part two shall be supplemented with the words "and the terms "Diia City resident" and "gig contract" shall have the meanings given in the Law of Ukraine "On Stimulating the Development of the Digital Economy in Ukraine";
in part four of Article 4, after the words "arrived in Ukraine for employment", add the words "or conclusion of a gig-contract";
in part four of Article 5:
in the first paragraph, after the words "and the employer's obligations", add the words "or a resident of Diia City", and after the words "early termination or suspension of the employment agreement (contract)" - the word "gig contract";
in the second paragraph, after the words "employment agreement (contract)", add the word "gig-contract";
