This year, Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine (SNHUU) opened its doors to prospective students, their parents, and all interested visitors twice. The Open Days, held on April 12 and June 13, 2025, attracted numerous guests, with the station of the Department of Language Training and Humanities standing out as one of the event’s highlights under the slogans “As many languages you know, as many times you are human” and “Nula est medicina sine lingua Latina.”

The department’s booth drew significant attention from visitors. Faculty members shared insights about the specifics of studying, educational programs, and the opportunities that training at the department offers. Lively conversations, genuine smiles, and curious questions created a warm atmosphere of idea-sharing and engagement.

This year’s event built on the department’s ongoing career guidance efforts. Among the guests were students from the Ukrainian Medical Lyceum of NMU named after O.O. Bohomolets, Kyiv Medical Gymnasium No. 33, and other institutions already familiar with the advantages of studying at SNHUU. Their interest reaffirms the university’s status as a leading center for training medical professionals.

The department’s station also caught the attention of the university’s rector, Vyacheslav Kaminsky, the head of the academic council and vice-rector for academic affairs, Oleksandr Tolstanov, and the vice-rector for research, Nataliia Savychuk. Their autographs and words of support were a cherished moment for the department’s team.

Visitors to the booth had the chance to test their knowledge of medical terminology by solving crosswords and translating Latin aphorisms. They could also write their favorite sayings in various languages, learn fascinating facts about the history of Ukrainian medicine, enjoy philological jokes, and receive gifts: Latin books, postcards featuring rare Ukrainian words, and sweets.

An unexpected and heartwarming highlight was the creativity of the youngest guests. Little Oksanka colored a drawing of a human figure, which older visitors enthusiastically annotated with Latin anatomical terms. This collaborative effort added vibrant colors and warmth to the booth.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who joined us for the 2025 Open Days! We look forward to seeing you in our lecture halls in the new academic year!
