The Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine has successfully completed the second phase of the "Emergency Ultrasound. POCUS Protocol" training series, held with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), the international organization MedGlobal, and under the auspices of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
The training took place in Kyiv at the state-of-the-art Simulation Center of the Andrii Tkachenko Educational and Research Institute for Innovative Medical and Educational Technologies. The program was specifically designed to meet the needs of physicians working in high-risk and frontline environments. It focused on intensive hands-on practice of emergency ultrasound protocols (POCUS), with an emphasis on resuscitation, trauma care, and critical care situations.
Participants had the opportunity to enhance their theoretical knowledge and acquire practical skills in performing FAST, eFAST, RUSH, BLUE, and other essential emergency ultrasound protocols. The use of high-fidelity simulation mannequins, clinical scenario modeling, and small-group training ensured maximum effectiveness in learning.
The Department of Emergency Medicine expresses its sincere gratitude to all partners for their continued support, and to the participants for their active involvement, professionalism, and commitment to continuous professional development.
The next phases of the training series are already planned in other regions of Ukraine.
