In a short period of time from its creation and at the present time (2005-2019 years) at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education  47 foreign citizens whose geography was not restricted to the CIS countries was trained (34) (Georgia - 19, Uzbekistan - 4, Azerbaijan - 7, Moldova - 1, Turkmenistan - 3), among them were representatives of foreign countries 13, namely: Ecuador - 1, Tunisia - 1, Libya - 1, Nigeria - 1,Somalia - 1, Afghanistan - 2, Iran-2, Syria-2, Palestine-1, Bahrain - 1.

High indexes of scientific work and innovative activity of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery (the Chief of Department - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor)) of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, which provides stable high performance of the department in the internal academic rating, are achieved not only by the collective work of the employees.

On May 28, 2019, at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education  began the cycle of thematic improvement - Basics of laparoscopic surgery.

On the 31st of May, 2019 in the Irpin on the initiative of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the  Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education the scientific and practical multidisciplinary conference "Rational use of energy in surgery" was held. The chosen format of the conference (briefing) included the active participation of the speaker and the audience in discussing the practical application of surgical technologies in the spheres of various surgical specialties.

On June 20, 2019, a regular session of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education took place under the guidance of the head of the department Savoliuk S. (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor).

On July 4-6, 2019, the traditional 4 th international scientific-practical conference "Current issues of phlebology, venous thromboembolism and its consequences" took place in Yaremche (Ivano-Frankivsk region).

The scientific forum gathered more than 150 representatives of the surgical community of Ukraine and leading specialists of the national phlebological associations of Denmark, Poland and Greece, who are actively involved in solving surgical problems in various fields of phlebological science.
