The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about cancer as one of the most terrible diseases of modern civilization, focusing on prevention, early detection and treatment of this disease. In 2019-2021, World Cancer Day is held under the slogan "I am, and I will be."

Problems and challenges associated with COVID-19 have complicated the usual rhythm of professional activity of teachers. To solve them, distance learning forms were introduced.

On January 27, 2021, in the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education a meeting of the one-time specialized scientific council DF 26.613.007 was held. During this meeting a defense of the dissertation for obtaining a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of study 22 Health care in speciality 222 Medicine (specialization "Ophthalmology") took place.
