Academic staff and students from the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine (SNHUU) participated in the 10th Anniversary McMaster International Review Course in Internal Medicine (MIRCIM) online, which is scheduled for May 8 to 10, 2025.
This three-day event features 11 thematic sections and more than 60 lectures delivered by leading international experts in internal medicine — authors of clinical guidelines and researchers shaping current medical practice standards.
This year’s program covers a broad range of topics, including cardiology, diabetology and endocrinology, rheumatology, medical education, and the use of artificial intelligence in medicine. As part of the conference, an international competition for young professionals in internal medicine also took place.
The participation of Ukrainian representatives was made possible through a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding among the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, the Polish Institute of Evidence-Based Medicine (PIEBM), and the organizers of MIRCIM. This collaboration allowed the university’s faculty and students free online access to the event.
As noted by Professor Oleh Shevchenko, Vice-Rector for Research & Education and International Cooperation, collaboration with the Polish Institute of Evidence-Based Medicine is a key direction for the university. The opportunity to attend lectures by world leaders in the medical field significantly enhances the professional training of Ukrainian physicians and promotes the integration of Ukraine’s healthcare system into the international space.
For safety reasons, the broadcast of the conference’s opening ceremony was organized in a shelter at the "Care from Birth at Home" Training and Resource Center, where university faculty and students gathered. Additionally, all officially registered participants received individual links to view selected presentations at their convenience and were granted continuous access to the conference’s educational materials.
