In December 2023, the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine represented by the rector of the Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Vyacheslav Kaminskyi, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation between the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (UMMA) represented by the Chief, Brigadier General of the Medical Service Valery Savytskyi, and the Autonomous Research Institute of Resuscitation and Evacuation, San Antonio, Texas, USA, in the person of the director, Professor Andrii Bachynskyi.

 

Autonomous Research Institute of Resuscitation and Evacuation is the leading scientific institution of the USA for the development of the latest technologies for the provision of civil-military emergency medical care at the stages of evacuation and transportation of the sick and injured. In this project, our University is expected to involve the department of disaster medicine and military medical training, which has been cooperating with the scientists of this institution for many years. The department of military surgery, the head of which is professor, colonel of the medical service Serhiy Korol, is planned to be the direct executor from UVMA.

On December 8, 2023, an online meeting was held between the head of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medical Training, Professor Georgy Roschin and Associate Professor Ivan Slychk, with the Director of the Autonomous Research Institute of Resuscitation and Evacuation, USA, Professor Andriy Bachynskyi, during which the issue of planning the topic of the research scientific works on modern issues of providing optimal medical care at the stages of evacuation under the conditions of a mass influx of victims.  Special attention in research will be paid to the development of new methods of providing medical care and the creation of modern devices at the pre-hospital and initial hospital (emergency department) stages.
