A certificate training course “Training Staff Pool. Business English for Research & Teaching Staff” will soon be completed at the Department of Foreign Languages at NMAPE. This semester a group of 5 students have been undergoing training.
Training presentation skills is relevant for research & teaching staff as public presentation of research findings is an integral part of working life.
We understand that to give presentations in English is a real challenge, especially for non-native speakers. The course is designed to help the participants present more effectively in English. Students learn the vocabulary and expressions that they will definitely need when giving presentations. The course covers all the stages of presentations as well as some related topics. Listening activities and a variety of exercises enable students to learn and practice useful expressions and structures. All texts relate to the topic and lead to discussions. Other issues like body language are also addressed. They also have an opportunity to train a lot of useful techniques that will help to communicate the message to the target audience. Enrollment for the next semester training course has already begun. The course duration is 90 hours. What is convenient for the engaged staff members is that training is conducted in the evening hours. The trainer Maryna Pastukhova has more than 10 years of teaching experience in graduate and postgraduate settings.
