Today, the need to find new effective and attractive forms of youth engaging in scientific and practical activity becomes especially urgent. According to I.S. Alatortseva "... The participation of students in scientific work is the driving force of their involvement in the process of creation of material and spiritual values, and ultimately contributes to the development and realization of the innovative potential of the young generation."

In this context, the initiative activities of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care - Youth Anesthesiology Conference “Trischinsky Reading” with the simulation medical Olympiad held at the NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk on October 16-18, 2019.

The conference was attended by 264 young anesthesiologists from many regions of Ukraine. Speakers and moderators of the conference include 8 foreign specialists, leading anesthesiologists of academic institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, professors representing related specialties from other cities of Ukraine.

The event was traditionally preceded by a refreshing lecture by leading foreign and blighty anesthesiologists. In addition, 22 masterclasses at the Center for Simulation Learning Methods, in addition to leading blighty specialists, involved professionals from abroad - Madan Narayanan, Jacco Veldhuijzen, Iryna Rybinkina, Lana Nela, John Allwood (UK), Andre Theron (Belgium, South Africa) ).

The conference program also included 47 presentations, a satellite symposium “School of Perfusionist” (which was first held in Ukraine), a session of 12 competitive short scientific reports by young scientists, anesthesiology brain-ring, a Simulation Olympiad on critical states. The last one featured 8 teams from different cities of Ukraine.

At the Olympiad, the teams of interns of the National Specialized Children's Hospital "Ohmadyt" took first and second places, and the team of interns of Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytsky took third place.

The team of interns at the Danylo Halytsky National Medical University won the Anesthesiology Brain Ring. The second place was taken by the team of Dnipro, and the third - by the team of Kyiv (the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk).

Among the competition reports of young scientists, the prize-winners were:

  1. Ovsienko TV (Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk, Kyiv): "Experience in the use of multimodal low-opioid anesthesia in laparoscopic renal surgery".
  2. Loskutova MS (Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk, Kyiv): “Great sports and intensive care. Analysis of patients' admission to the ICU during sports competitions. "
  3. Rudenko VL (Ukrainian Center for Endocrine Surgery, Transplantation of Endocrine Organs and Tissues of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Kyiv). "Optimization of the anesthesiologic approach during the preparation and during surgery in patients with single parathyroid gland adenoma with primary hyperparathyroidism";

This Scientific and Practical Conference was conducted with the assistance of “The Association of Anesthesiologists, Perfusiologists and Intensive Care Physicians”, “The Association of Cardiothoracic, Endovascular Surgery and Transplantology”, “The Association of Anaestetists of Great Britain and Ireland”.

At the end of the conference, the Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the NMAPE named after PL Shupik, prof. Loskutov O., who spoke about the importance of such forums in the preparation of future anesthesiologists, which meets the European and world standards of postgraduate medical education.

The decision was made to expand the scope of the conference and involve specialists in related medical specialties.
