The clinical bases of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine under the leadership of Professor Oleg Golyanovskiy are actively implementing modern technologies to improve the safety and efficiency of childbirth. One of such innovations is transperineal ultrasound examination (TP US), which allows real-time assessment of the advancement of the fetal head during childbirth, predicting its course and making informed clinical decisions.

Recently, an illustrative clinical case took place at the clinical base of the department in Vyshgorod Central Regional Hospital, in which the use of transperineal ultrasound made it possible to timely adjust the tactics of childbirth. Thanks to clear visual control of the position and condition of the fetus, childbirth ended physiologically and without complications for the mother and child.

Transperineal ultrasound is gradually becoming a new standard in modern obstetrics, as it provides an objective assessment of the course of the second stage of labor, reduces the risks of unnecessary surgical interventions, and improves the quality of care for women in labor.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology invites obstetrician-gynecologists, interns, and graduate students to thematic improvement cycles, where participants have the opportunity to master modern approaches to childbirth, including the technique of transperineal ultrasound in practice.
