On February 10th, the department of cardiology at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine conducted free optional classes. The meeting brought together family doctors, cardiologists, therapists, gynecologists, pulmonologists, who had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers during the lectures. The main goal of the event is to disseminate modern medical knowledge and draw the attention of medical professionals to problematic situations in comorbid conditions.

The event began with a master class by Dr. Valentina Kondratyuk, MD, Professor, leading researcher at the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology named after academician O.M. Lukyanova of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, on "Modern strategies and practices of anti-aging and women's health support". The audience's attention was focused on prolonging lifespan, preventing the development of severe diseases in women, and the influence of nutraceuticals on these processes.

An unconventional approach to the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in obesity and metabolic syndrome was presented by  Dr. Victoria Batashova-Halinska, PhD, as.professor of the department of internal medicine No. 2 at Odessa National Medical University, demonstrating that comorbidities can impact outcomes for COPD patients in the long term.

A powerful lecture by Dr. Tetiana Kolesnyk, MD, professor of the department of  internal medicine at Dnipro State Medical University, on combined antihypertensive therapy continued the event. How to choose antihypertensive therapy correctly? How to rationalize treatment? How to influence risk factors? - the speaker provided answers to these questions in accordance with modern recommendations.

Assistant professor of the department of cardiology at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine Vitaliy Nesukay, conducted a master class: "Edoxaban. Who should be prescribed?" He clearly articulated the relevance of the topic, changes in the management of patients with atrial fibrillation or flutter. In addition, they discussed the most common clinical scenarios where direct anticoagulants should be prescribed.
