As part of the Scientific conference "Resilience under stressful conditions: Solving neurological and psychological problems of today" (May 14-15, 2025), devoted to the national mental health program "How are you?" and the "Mental Health Month" initiative, the Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Professor Anton Volosovets, delivered an educational lecture for medical professionals focused on emergency psychological care and the management of anxiety disorders.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness among healthcare providers about modern approaches to supporting patients’ mental health and to develop practical skills for responding effectively in crisis situations. Participants of the lectures learned about key algorithms for providing initial psychological support, diagnosing anxiety conditions, and applying basic therapeutic strategies, particularly in cases involving combat stress, grief, and emotional burnout.
“Mental health support must be an essential part of modern medical practice. Physicians should be equipped to provide both physical and psychological assistance to patients in crisis,” emphasized Professor Anton Volosovets.
The Department of Emergency Medicine will continue to actively support initiatives aimed at promoting mental health, strengthening the system of crisis response, and supporting the well-being of healthcare workers.
