The main directions of the department are:

• postgraduate training of pediatricians and pediatric gastroenterologists in specialization cycles, internships, pre-certification cycles and thematic improvement cycles;
• postgraduate training for pediatrics interns;
• postgraduate training for interns of adjacent departments (general practitioners);
• postgraduate training for pediatricians on the physiology and pathology of children and adolescents, emergency care in pediatrics;
• creation of programs for the thematic improvement courses, internship in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology;
• medical and advisory assistance to children and adolescents in Kiev;
• implementation of scientific research on children and adolescents diseases and their prevention, development and implementation of modern principles of work of Clinics, Friendly to Youth.
