On May 2, 2026, the Open Day was held at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, with the active participation of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
As part of the event, the Head of the Department, Professor Anton O. Volosovets, and Professor Ihor V. Verbytskyi presented an interactive training station for prospective applicants focused on pre-medical care for critical bleeding.
Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern approaches to hemorrhage control, including bleeding control algorithms, the use of tourniquets, and other first aid tools. Special emphasis was placed on practical skills that are crucial in emergency situations and at the pre-hospital stage.
The event was conducted in an interactive format, allowing attendees not only to observe demonstrations but also to practice basic first aid techniques under the guidance of the department’s faculty.
The participation of the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Open Day contributes to raising awareness among young people about the importance of timely care in critical conditions, developing essential practical skills, and promoting medical education among prospective students.
