As part of the “Science Days of Health — Together for Science” held April 7–9, 2026, the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine actively participated in a scientific and practical event dedicated to the current challenges facing the modern healthcare system.

The event began on World Health Day with a scientific discussion on the topic: “Science and Public Policy in the Field of Working Population Health.” The event brought together leading scientists, physicians, public health specialists, and experts from across Ukraine.

Bogdan Bozhuk, Acting Director General of the State Institution “Y.I. Kundiev Institute of Occupational Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,” opened the conference with a welcoming address. Leading experts in the field participated in the event, ensuring a high scientific level of discussion.

The Department of Emergency Medicine was represented by its head, Professor Anton Volosovets. In his presentations, he addressed highly relevant issues regarding the prevention of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and modern approaches to the treatment of acute anxiety disorders, particularly in conditions of heightened psychological and emotional stress on the population.

The second day of the event (April 8) continued with a scientific symposium titled “Mental Health as a Strategic Resource for the Country’s Economic Recovery,” marking the 15th anniversary of the Ukrainian Association of Medical Psychologists. The focus was on integrating mental health into state policy, modern models for supporting mental well-being, and restoring the country’s human potential. The final day of the event was dedicated to modern approaches to the prevention, early detection, and control of tuberculosis among occupational risk groups.

The conference served as an effective platform for exchanging experiences, developing interdisciplinary approaches, and devising practical solutions aimed at improving the healthcare system in Ukraine.

The Department of Emergency Medicine’s participation in such events confirms its active role in shaping modern scientific and clinical approaches, as well as its significant contribution to the development of mental health and emergency medicine in Ukraine.
