We are proud to announce that the faculty members of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, as part of an international research team, have published the article “Comprehensive Prevention of Massive Bleeding/Complications During Childbirth in Pregnant Women with Placenta Previa/Percreta 3B & 3C” in the highly respected International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (Impact Factor: 4.88). This journal is the official publication of FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) and holds significant authority in the global medical community.

The study analyzed modern surgical approaches in the management of pregnant women with placenta previa and percreta (types 3B and 3C according to FIGO), which are among the most dangerous forms of abnormal placentation. The findings demonstrated the effectiveness of endovascular balloon occlusion of the abdominal aorta in significantly reducing massive intraoperative blood loss, shortening surgery time, and decreasing postoperative hospitalization duration.

The authorship team included Prof. Oleg Golyanovskiy, Prof. Oleana Dyadyk, PhD students Dmytro Fedorenko, and Serhii Frolov, as well as leading European experts - Prof. Michael Stark and Prof. Andrea Tinelli.

This publication represents an important contribution to the advancement of Ukrainian obstetrics, confirming the high level of research conducted at the Department and highlighting the integration of our scientists into the international scientific community.
