On May 2th, 2024 at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine (head of the Department - prof. Savoliuk S.) have started training of III year interns in the specialty "Surgery" (17 doctors, 2021 year of graduation).

Head of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery Savoliuk S. at the introductory lecture reported on the work plan, full-time internship program and tasks facing young doctors to deepen theoretical knowledge and improve practical skills in all areas of clinical surgery.

Head of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery, prof. Savoliuk S. at the introductory lecture reported about the 3nd year of internship training plan and the tasks that facing young professionals in these difficult conditions full-scale military aggression, and the requirements for the level of training with emphasis on modern minimally invasive surgical (laparoscopic, endoscopic) techniques and technologies of enhanced recovery after surgery, principles of evidence-based medicine in emergency and planned surgery, on the features and conditions of surgical care, about the department's experience during active hostilities. 

Schedules of lectures, seminars and practical classes were presented, which will be held both remotely (online), in classrooms, in the simulation class of the department (to practice basic manual surgical skills on laparoscopic simulators, with different electrosurgical instruments and platforms, with various suturing devices) at the clinical bases of the department.

During the meeting, the staff of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery checked digital reports of interns from their correspondence bases of internships. 

In addition, young professionals were acquainted with the latest changes in the system of continuing professional development and regulations.
