At the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1 of Shypik National Healthcare University of Ukraine from January 23 to February 6, 2023, a cycle of thematic improvement "Colposcopy and inflammatory diseases in gynecology" was held.

Participants of the cycle had the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of anatomy, histology and cytology of the cervix, vagina and vulva. Considerable attention is paid to the formation of reliable practical skills and a clear algorithm for performing a colposcopic examination of the cervical canal, cervix, mucous vagina, skin of the vulva and perianal area using a cathedral colposcope with a video system. In a simulated environment, cadets developed patient management schemes depending on age, results of cervical screening and colposcopic picture. In the simulation class of the department, the skills of conducting different types of biopsy of affected areas are trained: with the help of a scalpel, biopsy forceps and a radio wave scalpel. The cryotherapy method of influencing the pathological processes of the cervix with the use of modern cryo-equipment has been mastered.

"Actual issues of women's reproductive health" (13.03-27.03) - the purpose of the cycle includes obtaining new up-to-date knowledge about disorders of the function of the reproductive system and familiarization with modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of these disorders. The cycle of thematic improvement involves topics related to the main examination methods in gynecology, the relationship of extragenital pathology with the function of the reproductive system, the influence of inflammatory diseases of the genital organs on reproductive function, emergency conditions in gynecology, etc.
