The Department of Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy has welcomed a new group of physicians starting their specialization in nephrology and pediatric nephrology.
This year’s cycle continues the Department’s more than 30-year tradition of training specialists and supporting the development of nephrology and renal replacement therapy in Ukraine.
After meeting the Department team and getting acquainted with the training program, the participants completed an entry-level test to assess their initial knowledge and help shape the learning process.
The trainees represent different regions of Ukraine — from the west and center to the south and east, including areas close to the frontline. Despite the challenges of wartime healthcare, they have chosen to continue their professional growth and gain new skills to better support patients in their communities.
During the cycle, participants will work with up-to-date national and international clinical guidelines and learn how to use them in everyday practice, from diagnosing kidney diseases to managing renal replacement therapy in both adults and children.
We wish all trainees motivation, curiosity, and confidence on this journey. As Stephen Hawking once said, “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.” May this training be a step toward deeper understanding and better care for patients.
