On 23–24 September 2025, leaders of Ukraine’s medical community, international experts, and policymakers gathered in Kyiv for the Third International Health Summit – 2025, hosted by Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
Nearly 1000 participants attended the event, focused on improving access to quality healthcare during the war and in the post-war recovery period. Key agenda items included enhancing financial protection for patients and healthcare workers, boosting the prestige of the medical profession, developing medical self-governance, and establishing new standards for medical education and training.
The summit, organized by the NGO “MEDGLOBAL UKRAINE,” August Mission, the Ukrainian Federation of Professional Medical Organizations (UFPMO), the Ukrainian Alliance for Medical Exchange and Development (UA-MED), and Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, received support from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Nation Health, Medical Assistance, and Medical Insurance, the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU), and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (NAMSU).
Key speakers included Mykhailo Radutskyi, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health; academician Vasyl Lazoryshynets, President of NAMSU and Director of the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery; Vasilios Papalois, President of UEMS; and academician Vyacheslav Kaminskyi, Rector of Shupyk National Healthcare University, among others.
Leading Ukrainian and international experts, educators, and self-governance representatives also discussed critical wartime issues, including trauma surgery, prosthetics, rehabilitation, mental health, medical self-governance, medical education development in Ukraine, and the role of family doctors as the first line of healthcare.
The International Health Summit is now in its third year in Ukraine, with the second consecutive year hosted by Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
