The Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Professor Anton O. Volosovets, participated in the international scientific and practical conference “Current Issues of Chemical Safety, Radiation Protection, and Risk Assessment of Chemical and Radiation Impact on Human Health and the Environment in the Context of Modern CBRN Threats”, which took place on April 23–24, 2026, in an online format, hosted by the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy.

During the conference, Professor Volosovets delivered a presentation on modern features of emergency medical care in cerebrovascular pathology. The report highlighted current approaches to early diagnosis of acute cerebrovascular events, management algorithms at prehospital and hospital stages, and the importance of interdisciplinary coordination in ensuring timely and effective patient care.

Particular emphasis was placed on optimizing patient pathways, implementing up-to-date clinical protocols, and the critical importance of the “time is brain” concept in reducing mortality and disability. The presentation also addressed the challenges of providing care for cerebrovascular conditions in the context of increased risks associated with modern chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

The conference brought together leading experts in military medicine, toxicology, radiology, and medical protection, serving as an important platform for knowledge exchange and discussion of pressing issues related to safeguarding public health under contemporary challenges.

Participation of representatives of the University in such scientific events contributes to the integration of advanced knowledge into both educational processes and clinical practice, ultimately improving the quality of healthcare delivery in Ukraine.
