During the scientific and practical event “Year in Review: Advanced Practice in Nephrology and Urology,” we took a moment to care for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Thanks to the initiative of the Department of Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine — the event’s main scientific partner — together with the Departments of Urology and Therapy, Age-Associated Diseases and Diabetology, physicians had the opportunity to undergo a comprehensive cardio-renal-metabolic check-up.
Because those who care for patients’ health also deserve care themselves.
Participants received complimentary testing that included:
— estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR),
— blood glucose, uric acid, cholesterol, and HbA1c levels,
— urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio,
— anthropometric measurements, body composition, and blood pressure.
We are ahead of the national preventive screening program set to begin in 2026 for people aged 40 and older — by examining everyone who wished to participate, regardless of age, because prevention should never wait.
Participants also had the chance to explore point-of-care diagnostic tools, which are already recognized as priority methods in international practice.
It’s another step toward modern, accessible, and truly patient-centered medicine.
This day served as a gentle reminder that taking care of yourself is also part of taking care of your patients.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us and proud to have offered physicians not only new knowledge, but also genuine care — the kind they give to others every day.
