On February 27, 2020, the public presentation of the scientific task of Associate Professor of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the NMAPE named after PL Shupyk was held. «Anesthetic management of elderly patients with on-pump cardiac surgery operations» (scientific consultant Prof. Loskutov OA).
The dissertation work of dr. Druzhyna OM touches the most common nosology - ischemic heart disease, which currently determines the highest mortality rate in the structure of mortality in Ukraine.
The elderly patients are one of the most complex categories of patients in the practice of a doctors of any specialty. It is recommended to take into account the following features of the incidence of the elderly: multiple pathological conditions; rapid deterioration of the situation in cases of late seeking medical help; high frequency of complications caused by illness and treatment; the need for rehabilitation. At the same time, only 3-6% of the elderly and the elderly can be considered physiologically elderly, and practically healthy.
Thus, it is undoubtedly relevant to study ways to improve methods of anesthesiology and artificial blood flow during surgical treatment of coronary heart disease in elderly patients.
To date, there are approximately 390 cardiac surgeries per 1 million people in Ukraine. However, the number of cases of cardiac surgery in patients with ischemic heart disease remains significantly during last several years. This is largely related to the adequacy of anesthesia, the effectiveness of which depends largely on the success of all surgery. Therefore, the improvement of anesthesiology safety during artery coronary bypass grafting is certainly an urgent task of modern medicine. In this regard, this dissertation is timely and relevant.
For the first time, the author summarized and systematized information about the effects of various types of anesthesia and artificial circulation used in anesthesiology in elderly and senile patients with coronary heart disease
According to the unanimous opinion of the official opponents and the members of the special council present, the dissertation work of dr. Druzhyna, is of its relevance, high methodological level, scientific novelty and practical significance. fully meets the requirements of the "Order of awarding scientific degrees and the awarding of the scientific title of senior research associate", approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from July 24, 2013 No. 567, and its author deserves the award of the scientific degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in the specialty 14.01.30 - anesthesiology.
