On June 27 at eight o'clock in the morning on the channel Kyiv TV in the "Doctor's Tips" program, a meeting was held with Dr Med Sci Prof. of Department of Oncology in the Shupyk NMAPE Prokip Gordiichuk. The problem of "Colon Cancer" was discussed in the studio.

Colon cancer in the structure of solid oncological diseases in Ukraine is on the first stage, we have an average level of morbidity and high mortality rate compared to countries in the world. Issues of epidemiology have been discussed, key factors of this polietiology disease are identified, factors that can influence and those that should be in the first stage to reduce morbidity and mortality.

The indicated algorithm of surveys. Main attention is paid to the standards of performing such important screening examinations as fecal-test on the occult blood and colonoscopic examination. Statistical data on the influence of colon polyps in the occurrence of colorectal cancer are presented. Clearly defined requirements for the examination of such patients, depending on the number of polyps and their morphological structure. The role of inflammatory diseases in the outbreak of colon cancer is defined, namely: non-specific ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease. We have got recommendation about the time and size of examination. Attention is paid to genetic diseases, namely: familial adenomatous polyposis, which in 100% of cases leads to colon cancer at the age of 40; Lynch syndrome - who has a cancer risk of 20% to 80%. The important issues of diagnostics of generations and close relatives of patients with the given diseases are discussed.

The discussion identified the first clinical factors of colon cancer, the existing clinical forms of the course, and protocols of complex treatment patients with colon cancer. P. Gordiichuk presents the results of surgical treatment, the methods of surgical interventions are given, and the concept of organ-saving interventions is substantiated without violating oncological principles.

These tips for preventing morbidity, taking the right decision depending on age, the appearance of symptoms about the need for examination and its volume.
