The National Researcher System of Ukraine supports research activity, strengthens overall scientific potential, and recognizes Ukrainian researchers' achievements and contributions to science through fellowships.

The National Researcher System of Ukraine aims to support scientific research, encourage research activity, and strengthen the country's scientific potential. The award of fellowships recognizes the achievements of Ukrainian researchers and their contributions to the advancement of national science.

The research activities of the Department of Oncology encompass key areas of modern oncology, including cancer prevention and early diagnosis, the investigation of molecular and genetic characteristics of malignant neoplasms, the improvement of surgical techniques and systemic anticancer treatment, as well as the development of personalized medicine and patient rehabilitation.

Following the results of the nationwide ranking conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, state support was awarded to two young researchers from the Department of Oncology: Mykola Gordiichuk, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of the Department, and Anastasiia Samusieva, MD, PhD, Associate Professor.

A distinctive feature of their work is the integration of clinical practice, education, and scientific research. Their hands-on clinical experience has enabled them to identify relevant research questions, analyze treatment outcomes, and contribute to the improvement of patient management strategies. The results of their research have been published in journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, presented at international scientific congresses and conferences, and have fostered professional exchange with members of the international oncology community.

One of the Department's key priorities is nurturing the next generation of researchers. The Department actively supports the scientific initiatives of young physicians, encourages their involvement in research, and promotes participation in international educational and scientific events. The integration of clinical expertise, teaching responsibilities, and scientific inquiry contributes to the development of specialists who not only apply modern medical technologies but also actively participate in their advancement and improvement.

The awarding of state fellowships to members of the Department of Oncology represents not only an important personal professional achievement but also reflects the growth of the University's research environment. Supporting researchers and fostering scientific initiatives lay the foundation for the continued advancement of academic oncology and the improvement of approaches to cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The entire team of the Department of Oncology warmly congratulates Mykola Gordiichuk and Anastasiia Samusieva on this achievement and wishes them every success in implementing their research projects, making new discoveries, and pursuing fruitful collaborations for the benefit of Ukrainian medical science.

Advancing science today means investing in the future of Ukrainian oncology.
