In September 2026, the Department of Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy published a new study guide, “Questions, Test Items, and Clinical Cases for Physicians Training in Nephrology.”
The publication is the result of the Department’s ongoing work in postgraduate medical education and is designed to support the training and professional development of nephrologists. The guide is organized into 29 thematic sections covering a broad range of topics in contemporary nephrology, from the fundamentals of kidney structure and function to the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease, renal replacement therapy, and kidney transplantation.
A strong emphasis is placed on the practical application of knowledge. Alongside test items, the guide includes clinically oriented case scenarios that encourage learners to interpret clinical data, develop differential diagnoses, and make evidence-informed decisions about patient management.
The content reflects current developments in nephrology and contemporary international approaches to the care of patients with kidney disease. The guide may be used both in specialist training and in the continuing professional development of practicing nephrologists.
The authors are members of the Department of Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapy: Professor Stella Kushnirenko, Associate Professor Svitlana Rotova, Associate Professor Tetiana Bevzenko, Liubov Savytska, Oksana Lysianska, and PhD student Yurii Kalantarenko. The publication was edited by Professor Stella Kushnirenko.
Developing high-quality educational resources is an important part of the Department’s academic mission. By bringing together fundamental knowledge, clinical reasoning, and current scientific evidence, the new study guide aims to strengthen postgraduate nephrology education and support the professional development of physicians caring for patients with kidney disease.
