In May 2026, faculty members of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine took part in the professional event “Clinical Update in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.”
The event was attended by Associate Professor Olha Kramareva and Associate Professor Alina Boiko.
During the scientific program, the representatives of the Department presented educational materials on the topic “POCUS in Intensive Care” (Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Critical Care Medicine), highlighting its role in rapid bedside diagnostics, decision-making in critically ill patients, and improving the accuracy and safety of intensive care interventions.
The presentations focused on the practical application of POCUS in emergency and intensive care settings, including assessment of hemodynamic status, respiratory pathology, and guidance for urgent clinical decision-making. The importance of integrating ultrasound-based bedside diagnostics into routine intensive care practice was emphasized as a key component of modern evidence-based medicine.
Participation of faculty members in such professional events supports continuous medical education, facilitates exchange of clinical expertise, and promotes the implementation of advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies in critical care practice.
The Department of Emergency Medicine at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine continues to actively contribute to scientific and educational initiatives aimed at improving physician training and enhancing the quality of care for critically ill patients.
