The Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Simulation Training Center, have conducted a simulation-based training titled “Prevention of Professional Burnout Among Healthcare Workers: Prevention and Recovery”, scheduled in two cohorts on May 24 and May 25, 2026.
The event was designed for physicians of various specialties, medical interns, and other healthcare professionals who aim to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in emergency psychological support, stress management, and the development of emotional resilience in conditions of increased professional workload.vt
The training program was developed by the faculty team under the leadership of the Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Professor Anton O. Volosovets, with the participation of leading department lecturers. It is based on up-to-date international recommendations, including the mhGAP Intervention Guide, the WHO PTSD Guideline (2023), as well as current national clinical protocols of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
During the training, participants gained in-depth knowledge of:
- the pathophysiology of acute and chronic stress;
- clinical manifestations of anxiety and stress-related disorders;
- modern approaches to the prevention of post-traumatic stress disorder;
- development of emotional intelligence and self-regulation skills;
- mechanisms of professional burnout and its prevention strategies.
Special emphasis were placed on the practical training of emotional self-regulation techniques, which are critically important for physicians working under conditions of high psycho-emotional stress.
