On October 8, 2025, Kyiv hosted a scientific and practical conference "Emergency Psychological Care and Rehabilitation of Patients with Mental Health Disorders" organized by the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National University of Healthcare of Ukraine in cooperation with the Pushcha-Vodytsia Medical Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The purpose of the conference was to discuss modern approaches to providing emergency psychological care, preventing post-traumatic disorders, and developing effective models of psychological and multidisciplinary rehabilitation of patients with mental health disorders, including military personnel who have experienced psychotraumatic events.

During the plenary sessions, the participants heard reports on the problems of providing emergency psychological assistance and preventing the development of post-traumatic stress disorders (Volosovets A. O., Zozulia I. S, Ivashchenko O. V., Kramareva O. H., Seriogina N. O., Boiko A. V.), as well as the introduction of canisterapy into the system of psychological rehabilitation of military personnel (Volosovets A. O., Shvedenko Y. I., Zozulia I. S., Verbytskyi I. V.). Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of stress prevention (O. Didenko), first aid in case of acute emotional states (Sirina O.) and modern integrative approaches to multifocal psychological rehabilitation of military personnel (Andriyash L.).

The conference brought together specialists in various fields - doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, teachers and scientists - to discuss ways to develop the psychological assistance system in wartime, increase the effectiveness of interdisciplinary cooperation and create modern rehabilitation programs.

Participants had the opportunity to take tests and receive certificates of continuing professional development. The conference was held in an offline format in compliance with epidemic safety standards and provided shelter for participants in case of air raid.

The event was an important step in the development of professional dialogue between the educational, medical and rehabilitation communities, contributing to improving the quality of emergency psychological care and restoring mental health of the Ukrainian population.
