As part of international academic cooperation and in order to enhance the competencies of third-level higher education seekers, a series of online lectures was held at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. These lectures were delivered by prominent global experts in emergency medicine, anesthesiology, and disaster medicine.

The invited lecturers included esteemed scientists and practitioners from seven countries:

Dr. Paul Kivela (USA), Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, former President and International Representative of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP, 2018–2021), presented the lecture “An algorithmic approach to hypotension”, focusing on current protocols for managing hypotension in emergency settings.

Dr. Karl Thies (Germany), representing the Department of Anaesthesiology at OWL University Hospitals, Bielefeld University, delivered a lecture entitled “Putting a focus on the role of haemodynamic effects of chest compressions and ventilation in TCA”, examining the impact of resuscitation techniques during traumatic cardiac arrest.

Professor Vitor Almeida (Portugal), Coordinator of the Humanitarian Aid Cabinet of the Portuguese Chamber of Physicians and President of the Portuguese College for Emergency Medicine, gave an insightful presentation titled “Disasters: are modern societies prepared?”, addressing the pressing issues of disaster preparedness and civil resilience.

Dr. Luis Garcia Castrillo (Spain), former President of the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM) and Associate Professor at the University of Cantabria, discussed the “Revision of the Thromboembolic Disease Guidelines”, highlighting recent updates and clinical implications.

Dr. Jørn Einar Rasmussen (Norway), President of the Norwegian College of Emergency Medicine and Chief Surgeon of the Norwegian Army, delivered the thought-provoking lecture “What new perspective the Norwegian army have due to war in Ukraine?”, focusing on military medical strategies and adaptation in response to contemporary warfare.

Dr. Sree Sowjanya Patibandla (India), National President of the Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), delivered a lecture on “Recognition of Stroke in ER”, emphasizing current approaches to early identification of stroke at the point of first contact.

Dr. Daniel Lopes Tapia (Mexico), Director of the School of Medicine at the University of Monterrey, explored “Understanding the status epilepticus pathophysiology to get the easy treatment way”, shedding light on mechanisms and therapeutic options in managing status epilepticus.

This lecture series offered postgraduate students of the University a unique opportunity to deepen their clinical knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and engage in meaningful international academic exchange.
